Written and taught by Scarlett Amaris — screenwriter (Color Out of Space starring Nicolas Cage, The Theatre Bizarre), HWA Superior Achievement finalist, published dark fiction novelist, and soon-to-be Llewellyn Worldwide author. A working witch who has never once treated craft and the occult as separate.

The Idea

This is everything I actually do.

Not the tidied-up, respectable version of it.

Writing and creating is a sacred process. I don’t say that to be precious about it — I say it because I’ve built an entire career, a strange and crooked one, on treating the page like an altar and the work like a spell. Witching: The Art of Words is that whole process, laid out start to finish: the petitions, the altars, the dream journals, the guided visualizations, the shameless mimicry of writers I admire, and three occult techniques — automatic writing, tarot, and sigil work — that most creative writing courses never touch at all.

The Curriculum

Ten modules. Three bonus doors, woven right in.

Work through them in order, or jump to whatever your project needs right now.

01

Creating Ritual Space

Write a petition, cleanse a space, and build a writing altar that encodes your actual project.

02

Sigil Work Bonus

Condense an intention into a single mark, charge it, and release it to work without your supervision.

03

Dream Work

Catch your dreams on the page and start using your subconscious as a genuine co-writer.

04

Automatic Writing Bonus

Get your conscious editor out of the way entirely and mine what’s underneath it.

05

Mapping the Inner Terrain

Build your own guided visualization and meet a creative guide in a space that’s entirely yours.

06

Guising & Contagion

Learn to mimic writers you admire on purpose, and infect your project with research until it feels real.

07

Tarot for Story Generation Bonus

Three spreads built specifically to break open a stuck scene, not read your fortune.

08

Polarity

Build characters with real flaws, find their sliver, and give every scene something to actually lose.

09

Creation, Destruction, Rebirth

The hero’s journey, an inner-team tool for character depth, and how to actually edit your own work.

10

Finale

Find your creative driver, learn to let go of finished work, and the plain-spoken basics of selling it.

Is This For You

Be honest with yourself here.

This is for you if…

  • You have a project — book, script, story, anything — you’re actually willing to commit to
  • You’re willing to do the homework, not just watch the videos
  • The idea of treating your creative practice as sacred appeals to you, whether or not you call yourself a witch
  • You want practical craft tools, not just inspiration

This isn’t for you if…

  • You want ongoing, page-by-page feedback as you write — the included consultation is one session, not standing manuscript support
  • You’re looking for a quick fix rather than a real practice
  • The occult framing is a hard no for you, even stripped down to the psychology underneath it
What Students Are Saying

Real students. Real projects.

Before taking Scarlett Amaris’ Witching: The Art of Words, I was stuck. Despite my past as published author and filmmaker, I couldn’t break through my hideous writer’s block. The practices in Scarlett’s class rolled away the stone, sparked my motivation, and formed a firm grounding for me to do the work. I now have a beat sheet and scenes for a film and, most importantly, renewed creative energy. The practices in this course form a long-term guide to tapping into and bringing forth one’s visions onto the written page. Scarlett’s knowledge and use of occultism and esotericism are effective and profound methods to propel one’s visions into script form.

L.D.Published Author & Filmmaker

Scarlett’s Witching: The Art of Words is the beautiful synchronization of writing and spell craft. It is accessible to the full spectrum of writers, witches, novices, and dedicated practitioners of each of the two crafts. I left that class armed with more tools on my writing altar, both literally and metaphorically, and I still sip into that well of inspiration. A no-nonsense lecturer and a ferocious cheerleader all in one, Scarlett’s classes are wondrous spaces where her students are wildly creative and comfortably vulnerable with her and our fellow writers, creators, and witches.

M.M.

I have taken several writing courses, but I credit Scarlett’s course as the most responsible for my development as a writer. Not only does it help build a solid foundational approach for all of your writing projects, but, remarkably, it also helps you to tap into your creative genius where a simple idea magically transforms into a powerful artistic expression. Most instructors stop at formulas, but Scarlett’s proven methods encourage you to dig deep to find your own unique creative voice.

Questions

Before You Enroll

Do I need to be a witch to take this course?

No. Strip away the candles and the framing, and what’s underneath is still true — ritual tells your brain something matters, and visualization has real neuroscience behind it. Take the psychology and leave the rest on the altar if that’s where you’re at.

Is this actually self-paced, or does it drip week to week?

Fully self-paced. Every module unlocks the moment you enroll. A week per module is the suggested pace, not a requirement.

What do I need to get started?

A project you’re willing to commit to, a notebook, and a small space you can dedicate to the work — a corner of a desk is enough.

What if I want live feedback on my actual pages?

Your enrollment includes one 30-minute Zoom consultation with Scarlett — great for talking through a specific problem, a stuck scene, or where your project stands. For ongoing manuscript feedback beyond that single session, look at Scarlett’s live salons or her standalone 1:1 consulting.

How do I book my included consultation?

[Add your scheduling link or process here before publishing — e.g., a Calendly link emailed after enrollment.]

What’s your refund policy?

All sales are final. The moment you enroll, you have the full workbook, every video, and every audio track — that’s real material, handed over completely, and it can’t be un-given. This course runs on the same deal as everything in it: you show up, you do the work, and that’s the bargain. If you’re not ready to commit, wait until you are.

Your creativity is a radical act.

More necessary now than it’s ever been. Go make something true.
